Baby Rock Records

A few days ago I posted a link to a album’s worth of tunes. The tunes in question were a great collection of Radiohead songs that had been transformed into lullabies! The tracks were great but I’ve just found out that they are actually from a commercial release of the same name, Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions Of Radiohead, from a record label called Baby Rock Records who specialise in these albums. I had assumed that they were a personal project but in hindsight this must have been the reason that Boing Boing puled the post too. Anaways, I love this kind of thing and it kind of reminds me of Twink in places and also chilled out electronica in others. What’s guaranteed is a collection of tunes that are very soothing if you don’t mind the sound of toy pianos! As well as being played in our baby’s room, it’ll be played in ours! This all reinforces the fact that file sharing isn’t necessarily damaging music sales. Here we had an illegal sharing of a single album that’s made me not only want to buy the original but has also got me interested in some of the other titles too, including Lullaby Renditions Of Pink Floyd, Lullaby Renditions Of Metallica and Lullaby Renditions Of Nirvana to name a few. I can’t wait to find out if they are as good as the Radiohead version. Anyways, I’ve taken the original link down (you don’t need me to show you what’s on someone else’s hard-drive, that’s what Bit Torrent is for!). [via]
