The Pioneer 10 Plaque Deciphered
Matthew Baldwin of Defective Yeti deciphers the The Pioneer 10 Plaque (you know about the plaque right?) so we don’t have to. Very interesting and very funny read.
“The text accompanying the plaque said the densely illustrated message was designed to communicate to any aliens that might encounter the probe. What it failed to explain was how a venusian cephalopod was going to make sense of all the information presented when an average homo sapiens like me couldn’t make heads or tails of it. So I decided to look it up. And the key to success, my research has uncovered, is for the aliens to be way, way smarter than I’ll ever be.” [via]
it seems obvious to me that there is a poky star thing but if you hide behind a box that shields a gigantic contact lens while naked and waving, all the while hovering over a row of small balls with an arrow pointing to a wedding ring, youll survive the wrath of the poky star
