Arrests Made After Riot Squad Called To Ippo Punk Gig
Things turned ugly yesterday evening when the (Cock Sparrer) Riot Squad were called in to cool things down at The Steamboat in Ipswich where the Rists were playing their first gig for two years. It all looked like it was going to pass by without any trouble until Mickey let out a viscous verbal attack on Clive before Rich set the band and a few of the audience into a snarly mess with his growling and pumping head vein…the atmosphere quickly turned sour. The Riot Squad hoodwinked everyone by creeping in the side door and the trouble makers were caught red handed, immediately arrested and taken down the station. With the trouble makers out of the way and a sturdy non verbal warning for all the other punters the atmosphere brightened. The audience begged for a food song and the Rists didn’t disappoint, after teasing them with a beautiful rendition of The Darkness’ “I Believe In A Thing Called Grub” they finally let rip with Cher’s “I’ve Found Some Buns.” Who should have happened by the pub with a platter of food at that precise moment but Cher herself to hand out the buns and put a final smile on everyones face. Oh how the Rists rocked the party. On a more sinister note, some bitter and twisted Rists fan found the unattended Riot Squad’s vehicle and trashed it by slashing the tires and stripping off everything of any value..they took Red Flag Fanny’s radio transmitter but for some reason left Al’s foil covered Casio keyboard! Go see the archived shocking photographic evidence for yourselves.
Funny Story of the night goes to Mary after she spilt coffee on the sleeve of her top and accidentally washed the wrong sleeve in a dark pub toilet! Quote of the night goes to James as he was overheard saying, “once bitten twice who give a f**k!”

It all started off looking fine…

…but it didn’t take long for Rich to start snarling…the others (and some of the audience) soon followed

It soon became apparent the the strong arm of the law may be needed, someone made the call, the Riot Squad crept in on the quiet trough the side door.

Punk rock was played, arrests were made and with a final warning the Riot Squad left the building playing a blistering free-form solo!

With the agro causers in a cell the Rists were able to carry on their show with a beautiful rendition of The Darkness’ “I Believe In A Thing Called Grub” (oh how everyone clapped in the middle) and then Cher’s “I’ve Found Some Buns”

Who should arrive but Cher herself to hand out the aforementioned buns, wow, what a sight!

The Riot Squad’s car was found trashed later in the evening with the tires slashed and anything of worth stripped out (that’ll be just the radio transmitter then!)

Rich was seen later that evening under a viaduct still waiting to be brisked.
