Ishkur’s Guide To Electronic Music
Ishkur says that his Guide to Electronic Music “could be used as a credited resource or a musical primer” but quickly goes on to say that it’s not recommended as he “made most of it up!” In reality it’s a really great site. You choose one of the base musical genres and it spreads out into a “musical tree” of sub genres. Each of the sub genres has a written explanation and MP3 examples to listen to. I didn’t realise I liked my drum & bass to be atmospheric, jazzstep, techstep and darkstep…I just thought I liked my drum & bass! On a more serious note it is a great resource, the MP3 clips have opened my eyes (should that be ears?) to many artists that I hadn’t heard before…I feel a CD want list coming on!
