Donkey Konga & Samba De Amigo
I just couldn’t resist the opportunity to buy game where the aim is to play bongos along with music! Donkey Konga, check out the great Japanese trailer & the rubbish US trailer for an idea of what the game’s like. I look much like the little girl in the Japanese trailer when I play it (anyone who’s seen me drum will agree I’m sure!), and Em looks like the little lad sitting next to her! I may look a twat playing the game but I really do look super-cool (or should that be super kool) walking around the house wearing my new Donkey Konga back-pack that came free with the game!
Playing it got me reminiscing about the greatest game ever, Samba De Amigo for the, dead but not forgotten, Dreamcast. With Samba you had to shake maracas in time with flashing lights, it really was the game of kings. I had to resort to playing it with the standard DC controller but I always dreamt of getting the real thing. Sega saw fit to only release about 5 copies of it in the UK though! I digress…I was doing a little search for a nice image to go along with this post when I stumbled across an actual Samba De Amigo arcade machine, imagine that…an arcade version of the greatest game in the world in your living room, sweet…
