Inverteratus Watch
“A watch that references a more culturally appropriate timescale.” The Inverteratus Watch is designed by Crispin Jones who has chosen not to measure time by the numerical representation of the movement of the earth around the sun but by the TV programs that are scheduled! Let’s turn our attention to the web for a sec (no pun intended). Although its a predominantly asynchronous medium, there are certain parallels we can draw between it and television. As an avid blog reader, for example, I know that people will post their comments at a certain time. Wouldn’t it be cool to invent a time-keeping device based exclusively on people’s writing habits? As a result, instead of adhering to the media machine’s programming schedules, our experience of time would be custom made to suit our (and our network of friends) creative urges.
