Sign ØØØ1
Wouldn’t it be nice to take a trip and take whichever turn looked the most aesthetically pleasing on the sign post? There something about roundabout signs that I like. Maybe it’s the way that certain exits are made to look forbidden or of no concern or use to us. Maybe it’s because the best ones are on the way out of my town! Maybe it’s just the geometry. Whatever the reason is, I found it very cathartic erasing the familiar names! Anyways, in manipulating the text, symbols and backgrounds of the signs I have given the simple shapes more space and in doing so they have a more abstract, dynamic, and artistic impact than before. This is number ØØØ1 in the series and will be added to regularly. As more pieces are uploaded they will be added to The Sign ØØØØ Gallery.

I wonder what it would look like if you did a whole page of them, flat, and evenly spaced?
Maybe the hidden secrets of the road-builders would be revealed.
Or maybe it would just look cool.
I dunno.

I bet it would look cool as well. However, it would mean getting up high enough to photograph them straight on…I’ve already had a few odd looks for standing under the signs taking pictures (maybe that would be due to stopping the car in the middle of main roads while I jumped out to get the pictures). Besides, I’m sure that you’ll eventually need an ‘anti-terrorist photo permit’ for ladder shots in the UK before long so best avoided! As for the road-builders secrets…you think there’ll be some kind of subliminal or stereogram ‘X’ where the treasure’s buried?! I wonder…nice idea.
Anyway, keep ‘em peeled for some more signs over the next few days.
