Alexandre Orion’s Metabiotics
If you visit Ektopia often you’ll have found it hard not to notice that I’m a little obsessed with urban art at the moment! It’s not a problem, on the contrary, it’s one of the reasons that I set the site up in the first place - to catalogue the interesting links and the trends in my my viewing. For the first time in my life I am feeling artistically switched on to something other than music! It’s an amazing feeling, I can barely travel anywhere without finding all kinds of interesting things to look at (stickers, tags, stencils etc).
Anyways, I digress…Alexandre Orion’s Metabiotics is (are?) some of the most interesting & elegant pieces I’ve seen. Why? Because unlike much of the beautiful artwork around this stuff is only fully complete when there’s interaction between it and another person (even if they don’t know it!). Look this official web page of Metabiotics, it’s only in protuguese. But the design like the photos is very beautiful.
