Fisher-Price PXL 2000

Take a look at RetroThings post about the wonderful looking Fisher-Price PXL 2000 toy video camera. I had no idea that you could record video on audio tape. [via]

There was a vampire movie in the mid ninties, could have been the addiction, or parts of Nadja, that was shot on one of those.

I’ve owned a few of these are was just amazed that they could work at all. Once you did the RF bypass and it could output regular NTSC video it became quite handy to have around as an effects camera. I have a friend that bought one of mine just for that reason.
