Alchemists of Sound
Alchemists of Sound is a great BBC film about the history of BBC sound effects. The whole think is incredible but the lass using multiple tape decks creating audio loops is fantastic. Great fun for all the family! [via]

Fascinating. Loved all the details in the documentry. The George Martin, Delia, and Dr. Who. Thanks for having this available.
But one question, any idea who that guy was in the background of so many of the interviews? His presence got annoying being over everyone’s shoulder.
Thanks,

Dunno Brian, I was wondering the same thing and assumed I had missed something as I get easily distracted while on the computer…even when I’m watching a vid! Kinda scary as well.

October 7th, 2006 at 11:10 amThe guy in the background symbolizes the ever watchful eye of the head of the BCC. The clock is set to 7:58, or 1958 in 24 hr terms which is the year the workshop started.

February 9th, 2007 at 1:45 amYeah, who was the guy in the background. Also… There was a clock in all of the interview shots. It was silver. Was it supposed to be symbolic or something?
