Mike Giant In Paris
Mike Giant blogs about his recent trip to Europe. It really hots up for me when they take a 30 foot drop into the famous catacombs under Paris. More info on the catacombs and it’s art can be found here. [via]
News Breaker - Audience Mass-Controlled Breakout
NewsBreaker is a breakout clone that delivers news headlines when you clear certain blocks! The reason I’m writing about it though is because it was recently set up movie theatres where the audience control the breakout paddle via mass movement that’s picked up by a motion sensor at the front of the screen. Check the video of a game being played before a showing of Spiderman 3. [via]
Screw Asylum
The Screw Asylum is a collection of deformed screws, yup, just screws! Each screw has been photographed and then catalogued into size and type with a short explanation of each screw’s deformity. God bless the internet, there really is something for everyone! Here are a few things that are being said abut Screw Asylum -

The most boring website of all time. Some dude has a website about unusual screws. Stop the internet, I wanna get off.
This is the most incredible thing that I have ever encountered. Mind blown.
Lots of detailed photos, descriptions of freaks such as “Short, stumpy and no slot” “Beautifully mangled shaft” and my favourite “left with a small appendage [...] somebody’s getting off on this, that’s for sure
Pretty intriguing if you have little on your mind.
Oddball screws and the blogger who loves them

Shawn Barber Studio Visit Video

With this in mind, it was a welcome pleasure to stumble across this Shawn Barber studio visit video a few days ago. In case yo don’t already know, Shawn Barber’s first book, Tattooed Portraits, is still available and I can’t recommend it enough.

OpenOffice
Maybe I’m the last one to find out about OpenOffice. If I am, I apologise. However, if you’re in the market for Microsoft Office you may be interested to know that there’s a free alternative that’s completely compatible with the aforementioned software. It doesn’t have a version of Outlook but then there’s Mozilla’s Thunderbird for that I guess. Saying that it’s a bargain seems to be a complete understatement.
