Astronaut
Felix Jung has been mentioned before on Ektopia. I have a lot of respect for his past work and is most recent project has left me a little stunned. Astronaut is a Flash presentation that he’s created to play along with a tune by Dan Frick. What makes it different from all the other Flash vid’s is that Felex’s video pulls tagged images from Flickr that relate to key words during the song. So it all sounds OK but what I didn’t expect was to be moved emotionally as I did while watching the video. As the random images were plucked from Flickr I was occasionally hit by sublime images that fit perfectly with the lyrics. I know that’s the point but while the majority of the images “fit” these occasions where the images are stunning really stood out for me. All those photos on Flickr. All those unknown people. Unrelated but randomly brought together for one song. Big conrat’s to Felix and Dan’s beautiful creation.
