Choque Cultural
You may have noticed on Ektopia how much I love the Brazilian side of streetart and graff. Apart from all the Brazilian artists’ links that I’ve posted I also reviewed the amazing Graffiti Brasil last year. It’s a cracking book and definitely one to get hold of if you haven’t already. Anyways, more recently, I was introduced into a fantastic Brazilian art site dedicated to making it easy for us people who don’t live in Brazil to get hold of original artwork by these unique artists. Choque Cultural is run by Graffiti Brasil’s author Tristan Manco (who has authored many other great titles including Stencil Graffiti, Street Logos and Graffiti World) and Choque Cultural Gallery in Sao Paulo, who specialise in outsider art. Together, they’ve created an online outlet that hosts many fine prints from many of the artists around Brazil, including Atsuo, Highraff, Jey, Jurubis, Kboco, Nunca, Onesto, SHN, Speto, Tonho, Vitche and, one of my all time favourite artists, Zezao. I post a lot of links to things that I never actually see in real life but I’m happy to report that I’ve got my hands on one of Zazao’s prints and it’s mighty fine. It’s great to be able to really vouch for a product. The print quality is perfect and it was delivered in minty mint condition. As for as I know, there’s nowhere else that can offer this service and I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that it’s great to have access to these prints. So, go take a look at the available prints and grab them while you can. Oh, and make sure you check out Choque Cultural’s Flickr page for a whole load of these artists’ original works too.
