Google Sky
Not content with mapping the Earth’s surface with satellite imagery, Google have done it with the night sky. Download the latest version of Google Earth and go to View/Switch To Sky to see a zoomable and rotatable map of the sky at night. All the fun of astronomy without the need for expensive equipment (assuming you don’t have to but a computer to use Google Earth that is), without the worry of dodgy seeing (as us geeks like to call it) and without getting cold hand.
