A man “named James Legg, had been arguing with a fellow pensioner called Lamb. The dispute was presumably of a serious nature as Legg subsequently burst into Lamb’s room carrying two loaded pistols and demanded a duel. Lamb, however, threw his pistol to the ground. Incensed, Legg shot his colleague in the chest, killing him immediately”.
